For those of you in Ms. Chow's class next year (Grade 5), here is her photo and letter.

Hi, soon to be 5th graders! I’m Mrs. Chow, your teacher for next year and I can’t wait to get to know you in about two months. I was hoping we could meet each other over Skype today, but let me tell you a bit about myself in the mean time.

I am American but I have spent over two-thirds of my life living overseas. My dad was a pilot who flew small airplanes in the jungles of Venezuela and Ecuador when I was in primary school. That is where I learned how to water-ski in rivers with piranhas and crocodiles. After volunteering on several work trips around the world in high school and college, I started dreaming of teaching overseas. That dream came true when my first job after university was as a teacher in Hong Kong. Since then I have taught in Indonesia, Washington DC, Mongolia, and Taiwan.

I love reading in my spare time. There are often two or three books in various formats (paper, ebook, audio) on my nightstand at any given time. I love reading and talking to my friends about books. There are tons of great books for us in grade five and I am looking forward to sharing them with you.

My husband and I are looking forward to moving to Singapore and I am excited to be your teacher in this coming school year.
