Using Diigo to explore humanitarian organizations online

You can practice using Diigo to highlight and annotate websites relating to your upcoming unit on "Lending a Hand".  Below is a list of organizations last year's Grade 5 students collected.

2)  If you have forgotten your username and/or password, here is a link to a Google Doc (though note you will have to log into your UWCSEA "gapps" account in order to read it).

Humanitarian Organizations

Krouser Thmey A Cambodian foundation assisting children
Make A Wish Foundation Their mission: "We grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy." 
Central Asian Istitute  This charity helps promote education in Pakistan and Afganistan 
UNICEF Singapore UNICEF helps underprivileged children with diseases or are in bad conditions. 
UNICEF  This charity promotes both childrens rights and their education, and are a splinter organization of the United Nations. 
Green Haven Green Haven is an organization that prevents drug abuse. They also teach drug abusers to leave drugs. 
PETA PETA is an organisartion witch helps animals around the world. It is very sustainable! 
The Red Cross Their mission is: "We are dedicated to protecting human life and dignity, relieving human suffering and responding to emergencies." 
UNAS[United Nations Association Singapore] The United Nations Association of Singapore was established as a non-governmental organization in 1969. As a voluntary organization, its membership is open to all who support the United Nations

Chilren's Society
National Cancer Center Singapore (NCCS) Their aim is to help people in Singapore with cancer and to provide them with a cure and support. 
MEXT-Japan (Ministry Of Education, Culture, Sports, science and Technology  MEXT basically an organisation that decides all choices that relates to education and try to improve the educational system in Japan. 
Lets move Lady michellle Obama is leading this organisation which prevents child hood obesity in America 
Sea Shepherd contact This is an organization which takes unique direct tactics to save whales and other marine life 
The world wildlife fund Saves animals and marine creatures 
SPCA This organisation helps animals in Singapore that have been abused or abandoned by their owners. 
Jamiyah Children's Home Service links with UWCSEA East Grade 5, children's home caring for children in need 
Tabitha They provide living standerds for those in Cambodia without them

Singapore Cancer Society Their aim is to help any patients in Singapore suffering from cancer. They also try to raise awerness to people about keeping safe from cancer. 
World Monuments Fund (WMF) World Monuments Fund is the leading private organization dedicated to saving the world’s most treasured places.
National Trust The National Trust is a charity and is completely independent of Government. We rely for income on membership fees, donations and legacies, and revenue raised from our commercial operations. National Trust Mission 
Club Rainbow They help children with chronical illnesses.
